P!NK spotted around Dublin!

Pink has been spotted riding around Dublin with her partner Carey Hart in and outside the capital. Pink and Carey and two others are riding around Dublin on their motorcycles surprising and delighting fans everywhere.
Over the past week Pink has been spotted in Johnny Foxes in Glencullen co.Dublin. She has been twittering away about our emerald isle. In the first of her Dublin tweets she said 'Finally made it out to johnny fox's outside of Dublin on the motorcycles. They were wonderful! Thanks for the meal and the swag! still full.'
Just when we thought that was the last of P!NK until her RDS concert this saturday she popped up again in one of Dublin's finest gay bars, Panti Bar on Capel street. She was spotted by many of my friends there who said that she was cool and polite and when they said they loved her she replied that she loved them too.
That night she tweeted 'Yes-i'll have that whiskey sour. Why yes, i'll taste your 30 year old jameson. What? only HERE could i taste it? Nowhere else? I LOVE DUBLIN.'
Surely P!NK couldn't be spending the whole week here? Oh yes she could! Today she tweeted 'Okay Ireland. I'm yours for 3 days. But you have to share the roads with me. Can i still drive on the right please?'
Apparently they were out and about on the motorcycles again in the countryside. 'The OG 4 musketeers r back on their motorcycles! We takin over the countryside! Life is good when you're NUTS.'
So keep an eye out for P!NK you never know where she might rock up next! But i know where she's going to rock up on Saturday and i'll be there bright and early at the RDS for her amazing concert.

Big Brother contestant Shabby once posed naked for leading lesbian magazine Diva, PinkPaper.com can reveal today.

Appearing in the December 2007 issue with her band Voodoo Hussy, the 24 year old who lost out to Lindsay Lohan for her role in the The Parent Trap was described by the band's drummer as having "The most to say, and the biggest mouth to say it."

This will come as no surprise to her current Big Brother housemates, who saw her react angrily when she found out she was up for nomination this week, along with fellow contestants Dave and Sunshine.

One friend told The Sun yesterday: "Shabby always was an exhibitionist. She loved boasting about her acting. When roles dried up she still wanted to be the center of attention. She couldn't bear not to be noticed."

The sports issue of Europe's leading lesbian monthly - Diva - hit the shelves last week featuring an interview with Martina Navratilova

The Year Of The Love Rat

Over the past year it seems that more and more celebrities are being exposed for the love rats they are. Ashley Cole, Ronan Keating, Tiger Woods, and even butter-wouldn’t-melt Mark Owen.
But it hasn’t only been this year when celebs have strayed from their partners. Everyone remembers the David Beckham cheating scandal. He cheated on his wife Victoria with their nanny at the time Rebecca Loos. It was a huge front page story that ran for quite a while and also gave Rebecca Loos a boost on the social ladder as she has appeared on TV many times since then.
Who could forget Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie? Allegedly Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were still together when his affair with Angelina Jolie began on the set of their film ‘Mr & Mrs Smith.’
Why do people cheat on their partners? Is it for the thrill of having a dark secret and the risk of getting caught? That seemed to be the case for Tiger Woods. He kept his affairs under wraps and made sure he wouldn’t get caught but I think that was all part of the thrill for him.
The world wide web really is a strange place. You can find out anything on it even how to cheat on your partner. On the website allexperts.com a woman describes that she and a man she nicknames ‘Barry’ have admitted that they have fantasised about each other for the past six months. They are both married and she has asked how to keep their looming affair a secret.
The “expert” replies with suggestions for her. The expert tells her that she needs an alibi for several reasons. She needs it to explain why she is refreshed and excited when she comes home. She needs a concrete schedule so she doesn’t raise suspicions. Finally, she needs an alibi because when she is caught it will give her partner something to hate. He’ll hate the alibi more than he’ll hate her because if she’d never gone it wouldn’t have happened supposedly.
The expert says that anything she can explain in advance is one less thing to look suspicious. The expert recommends a gym membership. This will account for why she’s refreshed and excited, why she needs a shower when she comes in, and why she can’t answer her phone.
She suggests using a hotel or a cheap apartment and changing locations frequently.
It’s not surprising that this is on the net. Women seem to know what they want and need these days and that’s a good thing but I don’t think cheating is the way to go about it. But you gotta admit the “experts” advice was pretty good.
Now, on the flipside, how do you out a cheating spouse? hub pages.com lists 10 ways to find out if your partner may be cheating on you.
1. Your gut instinct says so. Gut instincts are very reliable. They’re one of the strongest feelings we have and more often than not we should listen to them.
2. There are significant changes in your partners attitude towards you. Partners may start buying you more gifts and being nicer as a way to eliminate the guilt they feel. They might also stop doing normal things like calling you and cancelling plans.
3. Your partner is spending more money than usual and you don’t know on what. Cheaters spend money on hotels and gifts and secret meetings for their affairs so this is a strong sign that something’s up.
4. There is a breakdown in communication. Your partner doesn’t answer questions about their day properly and they give short replies so as not to let anything slip.
5. Mutual friends stop seeing you as often or start acting strange when talking to you. Usually other people will find out about the affair before you do. So be wary of friends and their behaviour and ask them why they’re being weird.
6. Your partner is spending a lot of time with one specific person. This may be an obvious one but if your partner starts getting calls, texts and emails from just one person then there may be more to it than meets the eye.
7. Your significant other is more interested in their appearance than usual. People in long term relationships get used to each other so grooming and hygiene can slip a little. But if they suddenly start paying attention to how they look, well maybe you should start paying attention to why they suddenly care how they’re looking.
8. Your sex life is different. There may be more sex or less sex, your partner may want to try out new things or they could seem distant. This may be nothing but it’s wise to take it into account.
9. Travel or reasons to be out of the home increase. The most stereotypical sign. Late nights at work and “business trips” are a tell tale sign that an affair is probably on the cards.
10. Your partner is avoiding you. Your partner isn’t there much, they don’t talk to you any more, they’re constantly busy and they leave for work before you get up.
Take these ten signs of cheating, apply them to your relationship and find out what’s going on. It could save your relationship or it could release you from it and you could be better for it like Cheryl Cole. What has this column shown us today? That cheating is on the rise. So people be wary, no one is safe. Remember the old saying, and it’s one that has proven itself time and time again as shown by Ashley Cole: ‘Once a cheater, always a cheater.’

Julia Nunes: Ukes,Covers and Bonaroo

Julia Nunes has been writing songs since she was thirteen. Now at the age of 20 she is studying for her music major in Rochester, New York where she has lived her whole life.
But over the last year she has become a big Youtube hit. She sings covers of well known songs like The Foundations classic ‘Build me up, Buttercup’ which has received over 1.5 million hits on Youtube. Along with posting cover songs mostly recorded in Julia’s own room, she also records and writes her own songs. Julia’s song ‘Into the sunshine’ has been viewed and listened to over 2 million times and the views just keep on rising.
Julia’s fans will be familiar with the sound of her ukulele, it gives her music an original sound and identity. While most teenagers choose to rock on a guitar, Julia says ‘I played guitar first, but I couldn’t bring it to summer camp cause it would have got ruined, so when I found a cruddy ukulele two days before leaving I was pumped. I played it all summer and it became my ‘thing’.
Like most musicians music was a big part of Julia’s life growing up. ‘My dad is a musician, and was writing children's music since my older sister was born, and played in a blues band with his friends. So music was pretty prevalent to say the least.’
One of Julia’s well known cover songs is ‘Gone’ by Ben Folds. Julia posted her cover of the song two years ago. Ben seen the video and his management got in contact with Julia, asking her to open for him on his tour. Julia says how surprised and excited she was when she heard Ben wanted her to open for him ‘I actually thought it was a scam, just Myspace junk mail but his manager called my mom and asked why I hadn't responded to their messages, and that's when I did cartwheels down my dorm hall.’
Julia is on her own record label ‘Rude Butler Records’, named after a part she played in a 4th grade musical. She has received offers from major labels and big time agents but prefers things to stay where they are for the moment. ‘I prefer to stick with my close circle of friends and people I trust.’
On weekends Julia tours and during the week she does her course work. Eventful.com described Julia as a ‘Ukulele diva’ but the only thing she says she likes to have on tour is orange juice. This summer Julia is playing at the Bonnaroo music festival. It’s a 4 day, multi-stage camping festival on 700 acres of farm in Manchester, Tennessee in June. The festival has a mixed bag of genres from rock and pop to jazz and hip hop She will play along side acts such as Kings Of Leon, Jay-Z and Norah Jones.
Julia has a lot of fans who love her and her music. Some post Youtube videos as a response to Julia’s covers or songs or they cover Julia’s songs. I’m sure they had a field day when Julia asked her fans to make their own videos of themselves and their friends singing her song ‘Binoculars’. The video edited pieces of the fans submitted videos along with Julia’s own recording.
When I asked Julia who she would love to collaborate with she mentioned one of the bands who will play at Bonnaroo this year ‘I think The Avett Brothers and I would make a cool combination.’
‘I think you know’ is Julia’s third album that was released on February 2nd 2010. She says ‘"I Think You Know" has gotten way more attention from the media folks than anything I've ever done and so far the reaction is that I’ve stepped it up a notch.’
Julia Nunes now has three full length albums out. Her debut album ‘Left right wrong’ and her follow up album ‘I wrote these’ are available to buy or download on her website www.junumusic.com. You can also buy Julia’s cover songs which I would highly recommend. She is a superb, incredibly talented, fresh young artist who continues to make original and catchy songs.

Do you have the ability to be pure evil?

During the past week our airwaves, televisions and newspapers have been taken over by the shocking news of Derrick Bird, a 52 year old taxi driver from Cumbria, who went on a three hour killing rampage. Derrick Bird murdered 12 people and injured 11 before shooting himself.
It’s reported that he called people over to his car and then shot them and others he just shot for no apparent reason.
The last people to see Bird before he embarked on his killing spree were his neighbours Neil and his wife Carol. They have said that he arrived at their door ‘zombie like’. He sat down with them and expressed his concerns about his £60,000 tax debt. He feared going to prison. The Mirror have reported that Neil and Carol said ‘He just wasn’t himself at all. He was bothered to bits about getting locked up…’ ‘He kept saying, ‘I’m going down for a long time.’
He was known as a “nice guy” to many people but reports are now saying that Bird self harmed for years, had money problems and indulged in flings with prostitutes.
This horrific story prompts me to ask why do these “nice guys” turn violent, leaving even their wives and sons and daughters shocked that they could even be capable of these crimes? In the case of Derrick Bird was it similar to the story of Charles Starkweather?
Charles Starkweather was an American killer. He murdered eleven people while he was on a road trip with his 14 year old girlfriend in 1958. He was sentenced to death and she was sentenced to life. Unlike Bird, Starkweather had killed before. He killed his girlfriends mother and father and strangled their two year old daughter. He and his young girlfriend buried the bodies behind the house and stayed in the house turning people away with a note on the door that read ‘Stay a way every body is sick with the flue.’ The grandmother became suspicious and called the police but the couple had fled and set out on their killing spree by then.
Notorious American killers seem to become glorified over the years. Stephen King was influenced by reading about the Starkweather killing spree and Bruce Springsteen wrote the song ‘Nebraska’ about the murders. He finishes with the line ‘They wanted to know why I did what I did/Well sir I guess there’s just a meanness in this world.’
Does Springsteen have a point here? Does everyone have ‘a meanness’ inside of them that could steer them in the direction of evil, given the right conditions?
The most notorious man to go on a killing spree is Martin Bryant. As a child he was quiet and mannerly but in his later years as a teenager he was disruptive, rebellious, distant and unemotional. He was also the victim of bullying at school. He was suspended and he was psychologically assessed when he tortured animals. His behaviour improved but he was still causing problems when he returned to school.
As an adult he befriended a wealthy eccentric heiress named Helen Harvey. They spent a fortune on cars together. When Bryant was reassessed for his pension a note on it read “…Martin tells me he would like to go around shooting people. It would be unsafe to let Martin out of his parents control.”
Martin Bryant killed 35 people at the Port Arthur site in Australia on 28th April 1996.He is serving 35 life sentances with no chance of parol.
It’s unclear exactly why he committed this crime but it appears it was for attention and he was angry that he was socially isolated. It’s reported that he told his neighbour “I’ll do something that will make everyone remember me”.
Bryant was a wealthy and a lonely man he was also fond of alcohol. If he had a history of violence and comments such as the above then why wasn’t he watched more carefully or mentally assessed again? Dr.Zimbardo studies why seemingly good natured people turn evil almost suddenly.
Dr. Zimbardo is an internationally recognised scholar, educator and researcher. He has written many psychological books including ‘The Lucifer Effect: Understanding how good people turn evil’. The book is based on an experiment Dr. Zimbardo conducted In 1971 called the ‘Stanford Prison Experiment’. It asked the question ‘What happens when you put good people in an evil place?’ The experiment was to take place over two weeks. It included 24 normal college guys who were either prison guards or prisoners. The experiment was cut short after just 6 days due to the effects it was having on college students. Dr.Zimbardo has said “The guards began to use their power to dominate, to control, and ultimately, to crush the prisoners. So that meant that within 36 hours one of these normal healthy kids had an emotional break down, and the same thing happened on days 3, 4 and 5.’
Dr.Zimbardo found that anybody can succumb to evil when the right conditions are present. I hope the conditions are never present. We’ve all said at some point when we’re angry ‘I’m going to kill you.’ Weather it’s jokingly or more serious I’d like to think that the majority of us would never do anything like what we’ve seen in the past week or so.
The first of the funerals for the victims of Derrick Bird take place within the next week. Condolences are with the victims.

Would you spit on a red head?

We can all agree that it is the year of the redhead. With acts like Florence and the machine and Paloma Faith sporting the flame haired look, redheads are officially awesome this year more so than any other.
I love being a redhead and I am very proud to sport the Celtic trademark. But it hasn’t always been this good for redheads.
Red hair naturally is a genetic mutation on our 16th chromosome. Only 4% of the earth’s population are redheads and the majority of us live in Scotland with the rest living here in Ireland, the UK and USA.
The belief of pixies comes from southwest England. Pixies are associated with having red hair and being mischievous and having supernatural talents.
Redheads are harder to sedate than other people and need twenty percent more anaesthesia. Inadequate doses cause us to wake up during surgery!
The first redheads walked the earth 50’000 years ago in Africa and spread here to Europe.
The country name ‘Russia’ means land of reds’ in honour of Rurik the Viking.
In Germany the folklore tells that redheads are witches. In Germany thousands of redheads were stripped and searched for devils markings like warts, freckles and birth marks.
The Egyptians burned redheaded women alive as it was believed to have red hair was so unlucky.
In Greek mythology redheads turn into vampires when they die. Don’t worry Edward Cullen no need to change me, just kill me and I’m yours!
In Corsica if you pass a redhead you are to spit and turn around.
In Denmark though, it is an honour to give birth to a redheaded child and in Poland if you pass three redheads you will win the lottery.
We are rich mutant pixie vampire witches us redheads.
